Hands-On School
on Micro and Nanofabrication
From cleanroom fundamentals to device fabrication: learn, practice, and innovate.
27–30 October 2026 | Turin, Italy
Organised within the It-fab network and hosted by INRiM, the School offers participants access to the PiQuET (Piemonte Quantum Enabling Technologies) cleanroom, combining the expertise of Italy’s distributed infrastructure of public cleanroom facilities with state-of-the-art laboratories dedicated to advanced research and technological innovation.
Why Micro and Nanofabrication?
Micro- and nanotechnologies are enabling innovations in semiconductors, photonics, MEMS, quantum technologies, healthcare, energy, and advanced sensing. As Europe strengthens its technological sovereignty and invests in next-generation manufacturing capabilities, access to specialized skills and research infrastructures is becoming increasingly important.
The It-fab Hands-On School provides participants with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the technologies that are shaping the future of science and industry.
About the School
The It-fab Hands-On School on Micro- and Nanofabrication combines theoretical lectures with direct experience in a professional cleanroom environment.
Unlike conventional training courses, the School is designed around a hands-on learning approach. Participants will learn the principles of micro- and nanofabrication in the classroom and then apply them through guided activities in the cleanroom, gaining first-hand exposure to key fabrication processes and research infrastructures.
The programme is intended for Master’s students, PhD candidates, researchers, and professionals interested in microelectronics, MEMS, photonics, quantum technologies, and advanced manufacturing.
